The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Scheme has now closed.
The scheme was a Government- backed incentive established to encourage householders to use renewable energy, reduce co2 emissions and meet the UK’s 2050 Net Zero target.
It was open to all households, with or without a connected gas supply who had installed a renewable heating system and had met other eligibility criteria. People who joined and followed the rules of the scheme received quarterly payments over seven years calculated by the amount of heat their renewable system had been estimated to produce.
The scheme was only available for installations completed before 1st March 2019. and as of 31st March 2022; it is now completely closed to new applications. However, if you are the new owner of a property fitted with a heating system that is still under the RHI scheme, you could benefit from it by transferring ownership..
