Meet Freddy...
Freddy is just one of the hundreds of people we’ve helped reduce their energy bills.
Freddy applied for support from Energy Advice Helpline in early 2024, and was delighted to find out he qualified for a free ECO4 grant, to improve the energy efficiency of his home and – importantly – reduce his energy bills.
Both Freddy and his wife Maria live with mobility issues, meaning they qualified for support through ECO4’s ‘Route 3’ criteria, which helps those suffering from a range of conditions which can be made worse by living in a clod or damp home.
What did Freddy have installed?
Through the ECO4 scheme, Freddy had a new heating system installed, new radiators, insulation and solar panels. In total, he received almost £20,000 of new home improvements, completely free of charge.
Freddy highlighted just how much their energy costs have decreased since the upgrade:
“It has changed our lives. We are able to have a better quality of life. We don’t need to worry how much we’ll be paying this month or next month for our energy bills, which have been increasing all the time.”
“Our bills have reduced from between £180 to £200 a month, to £30–£40 afterwards”
