We all feel those January blues after Christmas and Blue Monday 2025 is just around the corner! At Energy Advice Helpline, we want to help you combat that seasonal sadness and we have made it our goal to provide friendly, helpful, and non-judgmental services to those who need them.

What is Blue Monday 2025?

Blue Monday 2025 is an awareness day that takes place on January 20th – it is a day to acknowledge feelings of sadness and depression that many of us deal with during the winter season. This awareness reminds us to put our mental health first and find the support we need.

Who are Energy Advice Helpline?

We offer free impartial advice on how to reduce your energy bills, information on the latest energy updates, importantly access government grants.

What are Energy Advice Helpline doing to make Blue Monday 2025 greener?

We understand that a lot of pressures at this time of year can build up and eventually all come crashing down – we can help with this.

The United Kingdom’s current energy landscape is a great source of distress for many of us, which is why we make it our goal to make people of the country aware of government backed energy upgrades that are available. And the best part is – it’s all free!

If eligible (find out if you are here), you could receive renewable energy upgrades like air source heat pumps, solar panels, and insulation upgrades which will all make your home a greener place to live. You will also save money to boot!

The more households that join this green revolution, the closer we are as a country to securing a green future.

Ways to cope with Blue Monday 2025

Feelings of sadness or depression require self-care and support, here are some crucial strategies that can help:

  • Reaching out to those close to you

Connecting with close family and friends as a way to share your feelings and seek support.

  • Learn self-care

Taking part in activities that promote well-being; exercising, meditation, or hobbies you enjoy are all perfect ways to help with this.

  • Set achievable goals

Break down tasks to make it a manageable step to reduce feelings of overwhelm.

  • Accept emotions

Feeling sad is normal, but attempt to accept and challenge negative thought patterns.

  • Less stress

Reduce exposure to stressors when possible prioritising self-love.

Going green…with tree planting

In partnership with TreeApp, we planted our very own company tree, and in fitting with the theme of Christmas it was a Norwegian Spruce!

Trees are our lungs and we vitally need them. After centuries of damage and deforestation, only 13% of our land is forested.

This needs improving.

The UK needs to plant 1.5 million hectares of woodland by 2050 to meet the carbon neutral target.

Here are some of the benefits that come from trees:

  • Combatting Climate Change
  • Supports Biodiversity
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Aids in Food production
  • Creates urban green space
