OnSide – Barnet Youth Zone Onside is a national youth charity – please see our Support Hub for more information.

Part of the Onside network, Barnet Youth Zone, also known as Unitas, is an independent charity with a purpose-built facility located near Grahame Park and Colindale. It aims to raise the aspirations and confidence of young people across Barnet aged between 8-19 and up to the age of 25 for people with disabilities. A yearly membership of £5 plus 50p per visit entitles members to access high-tech facilities such as:

Finchley Foodbank Finchley Foodbank is a charity that provides approximately 3 days of emergency food to people in financial hardship in the Barnet Borough.

Clients must register

A voucher or referral is not required however clients need to register to use the service and need to provide recent proof of address. The service also supplies essential toiletries, household and baby items and is open from 12 pm-2 pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Homeless Action in Barnet Homeless Action in Barnet provides services and support for the most vulnerable people in the Borough so they receive a warm welcome, food and a hot shower. They can also get help to overcome their issues and find accommodation and independence.

Support teams target those in need through three stages of advice; these are:

– Visiting people who are vulnerably housed in the community to prevent the possibility of homelessness,
– Supporting those who are already homeless and rough sleeping,
– Supporting people who have been housed after a period of homelessness to ensure it remains successful for them.
