Friends of Mewsbrook Park is a group that enhances and maintains the park’s Green Flag status and ensures it is an asset to the local community. Alongside maintenance tasks such as gardening and litter picking, the group holds meetings twice a year to discuss programmes, concerns and council planning. Social events and talks on various subjects are held throughout the year along with nature trail and competitions. Membership costs £5 per household and is renewable annually on 1st April. |

It aims to prevent hunger in the local area by providing emergency food and practical help to support people in crisis. Those in difficulty are referred to the foodbank by professionals such as social workers and GPs. They then receive a voucher which entitles them to a 3-day nutritionally-balanced emergency food parcel and will also be signposted to other services that can support them out of poverty. |
